BETTINA BEREŚ

I grew up at a kitchen table painted in orange and black stripes about three centimetres wide, amidst an ongoing debate about art, the avant-garde and most previous values.
I did not become a historian or art critic. Instead, I co-created two galleries: Zderzak and Otwarta Pracownia. I am a visual artist, painter, embroiderer and ceramic maker. I cook, I clean, I grow my garden, I raised two children, I take care of the dogs.
In 2015, I established Wypożyczalnia Obrazów – an initiative aimed at promoting hanging paintings on the walls without having to spend money. I have lived in Krakow all my life.
